Clean up itunes library and remove duplicated tracks

If you have used iTunes for a while, there will be hundreds of music tracks, pod casts, movies in your iTunes library. And there are must be lots of duplicates in the iTunes, I have the same issue. Some songs played several times because of dupes, and some will not be played because it’s lost. How can we remove all the dupes in an easy way?

There are many ways to do this cleaning job, Generally iTunes can do some basic deletion, but it’s not good enough.

iTunes provides a way to remove duplicated tracks following these steps:
open iTunes and go to menu File -> Display Duplicates
iTunes will list the duplicates out in groups, you can select duplicates manually and remove them by yourself.

Notice: here I use “remove” not “delete”, because iTunes will never delete the file of the tracks you removed from iTunes library. You must got into the folder which contains the file to delte them by yourself. And, iTunes find dupes only depends on track name and some basic properties, even the tracks get different sizes.
